The entire ICE HOTEL is carefully carved & constructed from the natural materials provided by mother nature during the winter months. Crystal clear ICE is harvested from the metre thick layer of ICE on the surface of the Torne River and is the basic building material for stunning architectural ICE structures decorating the ICE church, reception, main hall and your beautiful room of ICE. As summer approaches the entire ICE HOTEL slowly melts into the Torne River. Fortunately, the imagination never dies and ICEHOTEL is reborn the following year as yet another impressive hotel of ICE takes shape.
